Release Notes for Live Monitor

Live Monitor is the EPiServer CMS module previously named EPiTrace (which was flash based). Live Monitor now consists of a Silverlight web browser plug-in for visualization of visitor movements on the web site and services which provide the silverlight application with visitor information.

Live Monitor can be used to follow the behavior of website visitors, the website activity can be analysed by an organization and used to improve the website in various ways.

If you have a load balanced environment see the section Interval based updates in the Live Monitor Configuration technical note.

For information concerning the Live Monitor User Interface see the Live Monitor User Manual.

Known Issues

  • Live Monitor is only available for the master language of an EPiServer website.
  • The Visitor List displays visitors anonymously, in previous versions of EPiTrace authenticated users were displayed.
  • Installation of Live Monitor is only partially carried with the EPiServer Deployment Center when a website is running on an Oracle server, the database part of the installation is carried out through a manually executed script. See the Live Monitor Installation Instructions for further information.
