questions regadring media handling in CMS

Hello

I have 2 questions if somebodu can help answer regarding media in episerver cms (version 9)

1. Can you only search by filename? is it possible to search by filetyp och category in the buildin search in episerver?
2. When uploading a picture and linking it on serveral pages. It it possible to make changes in the picture, upload it again (replace the old one) and get the picture to change automatically on all pages where the picture is used?

1. Since both category and mine type are properties on mediadata I should think so. Haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure that will be no problem to solve. You might need to install an ifilter to get his on content inside pdf however.
