Have you chosen to install the wine store at the same time as you install CMS/CommerceManager sites?
I had similar problems doing that but no problems if I added the wine store to an existing site.

Perhaps. I have been installing, uninstalling, testing a few things out to become familiar with the product.

However I am at the stage where uninstalling the WineStore and reinstalling will still not resolve this error.

Any other thoughts?

Only that I have had problems installing the store on a machine already running one instance of the wine store.
