Hard coded URLs dont work ?!??!

I'm doing a very quick proof of concept for one of our customers. As such it contains a number of hard coded links in the aspx files. These links are relative. Everything works fine when browsing in English but when I change language (change /en/ for /fr/ in the browser) and click on a link the browser jumps to the English version ?? Is there anyway round this ? Do I need to include the current language in the href for the anchor ???

why not create a page within the admin, edit it and go to the advanced information tab and look for the "Simple address for this page" property, put your hardcoded link in there and epi will point your hardcoded link to that new dynamic page.
