Category selection property value not synchronising with Mirroring

Hi All,

We have been working with Mirroring in our latest project and we've come across a little issue.

Some of our page types are using the Category selection property type. The property is used to select categories of news articles which should be listed on a page (to be clear, this is separate from the category tree on the category tab).

The problem is that if we select categories in the property on a page on the staging server and then run the Mirroring service to upload the change to live, the live version of the same page will not have a value for the property, no categories are selected at all (in code, it's null). Setting the categories on the live server and then overwriting it by changing and mirroring from staging once more results in the value being removed from live.

The category selection property type is the only property we have had this issue with so far. Updating any of the other properties on pages of the same page types works as expected and changes are uploaded.

There does not seem to be any errors or anything bad in the mirroring logs, so we are thinking this might be a bug. Has anyone else had this issue?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Cheers,
James

It is a confirmed bug that mirroring does not handle custom properties of type Category (the MetaData property PageCategory works). This issue has been fixed and will be available in next major release.
