TinyMCE or other WYSIWYG on CMS 5

Hi!

Im trying to fix a couple of CMS 5 sites to work with a WYSIWYG HTML editor. Ive used this guid to get TinyMCE to work.
https://www.coderesort.com/p/epicode/wiki/TinyMceAdapter but i get nothing.

The guide is using version 3.2.1 of TinyMCE (which is not available any more) but ive also tried with a newer version.
Does anyone have any experience of this? I need a en editor that works with todays versions of Chrome and IE so it doesnt have to be TinyMCE but it has to run on CMS 5.

Thanka!

Hi!

Is there a reason why you don't upgrade to at least EPiServer CMS 6 R2? The differences between EPiServer 5 and 6 are pretty small so to me, upgrading the site seems like a far simpler task than getting an editor that works for modern browsers. Also, if I remember correct, support for Firefox was added first in EPiServer CMS 6.

Back in the days we used FCK Editor in CMS 5 for Mac users. EPiServer had a HowTo regarding that before, but it seems like it's not published anymore. Maybe you can ask them kindly if it's still around. If FCK Editor works in modern browsers nowadays... :)

Hi Linus. You may be right. But that has proven to be a bit more difficult too compared to when CMS5 was more modern. So for now getting a WYSIWYG editor working on the CMS5 is the only option. Thanks for your input though. :)

Hi, had the old project on the harddrive. I think you only need these files. If not, then I'm a bit lost. Was a few years ago.. :)
